Acupuncture
Acupuncture is one of the oldest treatments, known for about 5,000 years. Acupuncture cradle is China, and is now a well-known, recognized and applied therapy worldwide. It is absolutely bound to the medicine of the Far East, with its canons, the principles of maintaining inner balance, the principles of holistic treatment of each patient.
Acupuncture has a very wide range of indications, and the World Health Organization (WHO) lists the diseases in which acupuncture treatment has proven efficacy. Currently, medicine should combine all treatments. It should combine the enormous achievements of 21st century medicine with other recognized therapies such as acupuncture. Therefore, acupuncturists can treat a physician who has experience in this area, after acquiring a history of the patient’s disease, current diagnostic results, clinical evaluation of the patient, diagnosing the disease using modern diagnostic methods, consulting different specialists, considering whether another method would not be more effective and Only then can acupuncture therapy be started. Acupuncture can be used alone or in combination with other treatments.
Acupuncture can be divided into three groups:
1. Analgesics
diseases where only acupuncture can produce rapid and effective therapeutic effects such as in neuralgia, musculoskeletal pain, shoulder pain, tennis elbow, and others.
2. Associated
With other therapeutic methods – the conditions in which treatment with pharmacological, physiotherapeutic and other therapies is necessary. This group of illnesses is the largest, and the appropriately selected combination treatment gives excellent results
3. Targeted
Used in conditions where acupuncture allows to control annoying symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness, tinnitus, hiccups, insomnia, pruritus, symptoms resulting from immunity disorders, metabolic disorders and others.
Acupuncture is a painless method. The purpose of stimulating acupuncture points is to use specialized, extremely thin disposable needles, also used, or alternatively, depending on indications, point massage – acupressure, thermotherapy, laser therapy, electrotherapy, vacuum therapy, auriculotherapy. During treatment, patients gain full information about acupuncture, acupuncture points, canons of medicine in the Far East, gain knowledge about acupressure, which they can later use in case of different symptoms. Acupuncture can be used both on young children and on the elderly. The doctor, who has 30 years of experience in acupuncture treatment, decides the appropriate treatment for each patient.
